“Feels Like Home” was a collaborative arts project for adults in recovery from addiction that used poetry and visual art to explore the many meanings of home. The project included workshops with participants from Neartown Recovery and Serenity Recovery and culminated in a public exhibition at the Murray Convention and Visitors Bureau in August.

The project was funded through a $5,000 Arts Access Assistance: Arts and Health grant awarded to The Murray Sentinel by the Kentucky Arts Council and carried out in partnership with the Murray Art Guild, Neartown and Serenity. Award-winning playwright and poet Constance Alexander led the poetry workshops, while MAG Executive Director Debi Henry Danielson led the visual arts workshops.

This project was made possible with funding from the Kentucky Arts Council Arts Access Assistance grants.  The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, supports "Feels Like Home" with state tax dollars from the Kentucky General Assembly and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
