The Murray Art Guild is now accepting registration for student participants, ages seven and up, in the SIDE BY SIDE 26/27program. SIDE BY SIDE is designed to make available creative opportunities to students with disabilities, reinforce inclusiveness and positive self-image, and highlight the importance of visual arts education to the development of our young people. This fall, Arts for All Kentucky (artsforallky.org) and the Murray Art Guild are once again partnering with Murray State University’s Art Education Program.
Following the four studios at MSU, students will be partnered with a local artist and scheduled for a studio at the Murray Art Guild to create a collaborative piece of art. Works from this year’s program will be displayed in an exhibition, scheduled for February 2027 at the Murray Convention and Visitors Bureau at 206 South 4th Street.
There is no fee to participate in this program but pre-registration is required. For more information and registration, go to murrayartguild.org or call 270-753-4059. The program is made possible through a partnership with Arts for All Kentucky, a non-profit organization that provides accessible arts and inclusion programs for children with disabilities with funding from the Kentucky Department of Education Division of Learning Services. The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides funds to the Murray Art Guild with federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
