All for the love of Ozzy: Gallery X hosts second annual tribute

Posted

Heavy metal lovers and Ozzy fans gathered at Gallery X Art Collective Saturday for the second annual Ozzy Tribute Show. The free family-friendly event featured local musical artists, as well as a food truck, vendor booths and face painting, to celebrate the life and music of the late heavy metal entertainer Ozzy Osborne.

Osborne, who died in July of 2025, was an inspiration to local professional body piercer Jay Harvill, who began collecting Ozzy memorabilia in the late 1980s, after being introduced to the singer and attending one of his concerts.

“It changed my life, and it shaped who I am today,” said Harvill, who owns Gallery X, where he keeps a shrine to Osborne.

Harvill said he started the show both out of love for Osborne and as a way to give back to those in the community that has helped Harvill and Gallery X become what it has become in Murray.

“When he passed away, we started doing this tribute thing,” Harvill said. “Last year went so good we wanted to do it every year.”

The first Ozzy tribute brought out such a good crowd that Harvill decided to take the show outdoors this year. He said that he hopes the event will continue to grow and possibly move into an even bigger venue.

Explained Harvill, “It’s all for the love of the ‘Prince of Darkness’ and rock and roll.”
