Patricia Purdom Miller of Murray, age 81, daughter of the late Issac Wells and Alice Belote Purdom passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, October 3, 2026. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Neal (Pete) Purdom and I. Wells Purdom, Jr. (Betty Jo).

Patsy, beloved wife, mother, Nana, and friend, is survived by her husband of 59 years (married 12-25-66), Dr. Thomas I. (Tim) Miller; daughter, Anne Purdom Miller (Ashley)of Murray, Ky.; son, Mark Wells Miller (Beth) of Brentwood, Tn.; four grandchildren: Patricia Kay Taylor Moody(Jay Clark), Sarah Elizabeth Taylor Garcia (Juan Carlo), Lyla Allison Miller, and Owen Wells Miller; great grandson, Jack Thomas Moody; two nieces: Jan Purdom Goethals(Ron), Gwen Purdom, and two nephews: Wells Purdom III (Allison) and John Nix Purdom(Sherry); and several cousins.

A 1963 graduate of Murray High School, Patsy attended the U. of Kentucky and became a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and was a 1967 graduate of Murray State University with a degree in elementary education. A member of First Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School (10th grade girls for nine years and 3rd grade for 25 years). She was a member of the Bill Adams Sunday School Class; founding member of Louella Beddoe group of Women's Missionary Union; served in Women's Mentoring Program; and other committees through the years.

A former member of Sigma and Kappa Departments of Murray Woman's Club, she also served as C.A.S.A. volunteer in Murray's first class. Patsy was a member and officer of Captain Wendell Oury Chapter of the DAR. Also, she was the first Murray State graduate to serve as First Lady of Murray State University.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 till 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
