Mrs. Mary A. Conner, age 73, of New Concord, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.
Mrs. Conner was born on April 9, 1953, in Majestic, Kentucky to the late Frank Hammond and Ella (Beasley) Hammond Lester. She was a dedicated CNA at MCCH for 23 years and loved to take care of others. She filled her retirement years with dancing, fishing, and painting. She adored her seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and was a cherished, loving, and warm soul to all she met. She never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Conner; one daughter, Marylene Payton; stepfather, William Lester; four sisters, Donna Hammond, JoAnn Hammond, Patricia Hammond, and Jerry Reed; as well as two brothers, Jimmy Beasley and Tommy Hammond.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 27 years, Darrell Rowland of New Concord, Kentucky; one daughter, Julia Rose Decatur of Dallas, Texas; one son, Lloyd T. Conner II of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Bill Lester and wife Mindy of Beach Park, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Skylar, Kaitlyn, Erik, Darian, Adriana, and Jake; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, Tristin, Gabriel, Nathan, Hunter, Addison, Amelia, Aiden, Hudson, Julyan, and Dominic.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
