Mrs. Martha Lou Crick, age 80, of Almo, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at her daughter’s home.
Mrs. Crick was born in Graves County, Kentucky, on June 23, 1946, to the late Sammie O. Kelly and Rubene (Graham) Kelly. Mrs. Crick retired from Murray State University after 16 years as a Building Service Technician. She was a member of the Dexter Hardin Methodist Church, and was a 1964 graduate of Calloway County High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, scrapbooking, photography, traveling, and tending to her flowers.
When Mrs. Crick married her husband Jewel, she felt she had gained a second set of parents, Earl Wade and Mary Frances (Treas) Crick; two brothers-in-law, David and Dan Crick; and two sisters-in-law, Debbie and Renae Crick, who she thought of as her own brothers and sisters.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crick was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Millard F. and Bertha M. (Downs) Graham; paternal grandparents, B. Seldon and Algie E. (Ford) Kelly; her father and mother-in-law; her husband, Jewel Crick; grandson, Jonathan Higgins; as well as two brothers-in-law, Dan Crick and Warren McDougal.
Mrs. Crick is survived by her daughter, Kelly Higgins and her husband Robert of Almo, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Matthew Freeman, James Higgins and Jordan Higgins; brother-in-law, David Crick and wife Marcia of Dexter, Kentucky; three sisters-in-law, Renae McDougal, Debbie Hopkins and husband Bobby, and Norma Crick all of Murray, Kentucky; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Bro. Richard Burkeen will officiate, and burial will follow in the Coles Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
