Mrs. Kimberly Michelle Davis, 69, of Hardin, KY, received her eternal reward on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Kim was born on July 13,1956 in Bristol, TN to the late Kenneth and Doris (Barbe) Starr.
She was a remarkable woman whose greatest desire was to know Christ and make Him known. A faithful member of Hardin Baptist Church, she awoke each morning with one simple question on her heart: "What can I do today to strengthen the Body of Christ?" Whether through a handwritten note of encouragement, a thoughtful conversation, or a fervent prayer, she constantly sought ways to point others to the love and hope found in Jesus Christ. Kim was an avid reader and music also filled her heart with joy.
Those who knew her best also knew she was utterly fearless. Her courage became family legend when she fought an alligator to rescue her beloved Golden Retriever from its jaws. On another occasion, she chased down a large snake in her yard to save a helpless frog.
For forty-two years, she shared a beautiful marriage with her husband, Norm. Their relationship was built upon faith. Just before her passing, her husband expressed his love and admiration in a heartfelt poem that perfectly captures the woman she was. He wrote:
"When I think of the smartest person I know, without a doubt it would be my Kim. She has talked to God since she was three, and she really does love Him.
One of her first thoughts in the morning: 'What can I do to strengthen my sisters and brothers?' Even in her pain she was still writing people letters. Rather than thinking of herself, she was thinking of others.
She is also a protector and lover of animals. She wrestled an alligator to get back her dog. She chased down a big snake in our yard and grabbed it to save a frog.
She puts ice in the bird bath when it's real hot. She wants the birds to have a place to get cool. She wants them to have plenty of sunflower seeds so they can eat and take a dip in the pool.
She feeds flying squirrels, coons, and opossums, and anything else that comes around. Everything she sees, she thinks it's hungry—and I'd better not let her go to the pound.
She is truly a remarkable woman. She has been an example of the love of the Lord. Now she longs to be with her Jesus, and there she will receive a great reward."
Kim was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Preceding her in death are her parents and one sister, Jan.
Those she lovingly leaves behind include her husband, Mr. Norm Davis of Hardin, KY; two sons, Patrick Davis of Dexter, KY, Matthew Davis (Emma) of Dexter, KY; one sister, Sue Shackelford of VA and four grandchildren, Patrick, Aiden, Bella and Jake.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the Hardin Baptist Church pavilion, 6867 US-641, Hardin, KY 42048.
Imes Funeral Home is entrusted with caring for her family.
