Mr. H.B. “Slim” Shelton, 86, of Murray, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

H.B. was born on June 1, 1940 in Marshall, NC to the late Arlie Shelton and Viola (Cook) Shelton. He was a retired machinist.

He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather who cherished his family above all else. In his younger years, he enjoyed betting on ponies and spending time at the poker table. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for his favorite teams with his family.

He enjoyed retirement to the fullest. Slim slowed down and did things his way. In fact, his couch could probably tell a few stories of its own. It became one of his favorite places to spend his days. He had the comfort of knowing he had earned every minute of it.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Brenda Shelton and several siblings.

Those he lovingly leaves behind include his sons, Larry Szeszol, Jr. of Murray and Greg Szeszol (Amy) of Lake Geneva, WI; grandchildren, Chris Szeszol (Amy) of Kirksey, KY, James Szeszol (Akemi) of Kenton, OH, Eric Szeszol of Murray, KY, Michael Szeszol of Lake Geneva, WI, Zachary Szeszol of Murray, KY, Matthew Szeszol (Kendall) of Kanpp, WI; six great grandchildren and one sibling.

He would say to us all, “Remember Papa Loves You”.

Per his wishes no services will be held.

Imes Funeral Home is entrusted with caring for his family.
