Mr. Bobby Joe Latimer, 89, of Union City, Tennessee, formerly of Murray, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Magnolia Ridge Care and Rehabilitation in Union City.
Born on November 2, 1936, in Puryear, Tennessee, Bobby was the son of the late Alvie Lonzo “Ted” Latimer and Ruby Shellie (Mohon) Latimer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962, spending part of his service stationed in Germany. Following his military service, Bobby returned home and began a long and respected career in banking. His dedication to his work eventually led him to become president of Dees Bank of Hazel in Hazel, Kentucky, where he retired after many years of service. Bobby spent his retirement years in Las Vegas, Nevada, with his beloved partner of more than 20 years, Carolyn Adams. Bobby was of the Church of Christ faith.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Amy Latimer Cornette, and her husband, William “Trey” Cornette, of Troy, Tennessee; and his grandson, Dylan Cornette, of Union City, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved partner, Carolyn Adams; his brother, Billy Latimer; and his sister, Betty Vaughn.
Bobby was a loving father with a generous heart. His memory will live on through the family he loved and the lives he touched. Though we say goodbye with heavy hearts, we are thankful for the years we were blessed to have him and for the love and memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
A funeral service will be conducted at Murray Memorial Gardens in Murray, Kentucky, on September 25, 2026, at 2:00pm with John Dale officiating.
