Carolyn Paschall*

Aug. 24, 1940 - May 2, 2026

Mrs. Carolyn R. Paschall, 85, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.

Mrs. Paschall was born on Aug. 24, 1940, in Kirksey, Ky., to the late Paul Pierce and Moyna (McCallon) Pierce. She was a water aerobic instructor and a volunteer for Murray-Calloway County Hospice, Angels Attic and Spring Creek Healthcare. Mrs. Paschall was a member of the Kirksey United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Paschall; one granddaughter, Jennifer Williams; one brother, Doyle Pierce; as well as one daughter-in-law, Sheri Paschall.

Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Williams and husband Harold, of Murray; two sons, Terry D. Paschall, of Murray, and Tracy Paschall and wife Angela, of Murray; one sister, Gwendolyn Lovett and husband Rudy, of Murray; one brother, Marlin Pierce and wife June, of Murray; four grandchildren, Lindsey R. Paschall, of Murray, Jordan Williams and wife Kaylee, of Benton, Ky., Jared Paschall and wife Megan, of Benton, Ky., and Caleb Paschall, of Nashville, Tennessee; four great grandchildren, Kaydan Williams, Oliver Paschall, Marjorie Paschall, and Graham Paschall; two sisters-in-law, Yvonne New, of Goldsmith, Texas, and Jane Ann Pierce of Murray; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 7, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. David Allbritten and Rev. April Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Murdena F. Simmons*

Nov. 11, 1947 - May 1, 2026

Mrs. Murdena Faulkenberry Simmons, born Nov. 11, 1947, in Decatur, Alabama, went to glory May 1, 2026. 

Raised in Ardmore, Ala., by her parents, Murray V. and Aldena Toone Faulkenberry, alongside her beloved sister Geraldine Faulkenberry, she was a loving wife and dedicated lifelong ministry partner to Rev. Jim Simmons. “Mama Bear” to James Murray Simmons, of Lexington, Emily Ruth Simmons, APRN, of Chicago, Illinois, and Sarah Catherine McCullom (Joe), of Lombard, Ill. Loving GranMur of James Oliver Eaton Simmons. of Lexington, Ky.

After graduating from Ardmore High School in 1964, she worked her way through Athens College as a staff writer for the Huntsville Times before continuing her education at Middle Tennessee State University and then Southern Seminary in Louisville, where she earned a master’s degree in social work. It was in Louisville where she met Jim at Walnut Street Baptist Church. Married for 48 years, she faithfully served alongside Jim in campus ministry at Murray State University and numerous Baptist churches in west Kentucky and northwest Tennessee. A living example of Christ’s love to all who knew her, Murdena was a member of West Fork Baptist Church, Murray. She never knew a stranger and was a proud “adopted mom” to many.

When not reading, completing the daily crossword puzzles, winning board games, or traveling with family, she was actively involved in multiple ministry organizations including the Women’s Missionary Union, Vets With A Mission Vietnam Outreach, the Appalachian Missions Outreach, and the Amazon Mission Organization (AMOR). Her desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus sent her through Murray, to the mountains of Appalachia and down the Amazon River twice. Though faced with the challenges of Parkinson’s Disease, she approached each day with grace, dignity, and a courageous spirit. She and her family are forever grateful to the loving care provided to her by “The A-TEAM.”

The celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray.

Her family welcomes visitors from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Heritage Chapel.

Mr. Timothy Joel Wilson, 55, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

Brenda Marie West*

Sept. 16, 1965 – April 30, 2026

Mrs. Brenda Marie West, 69, of Hazel, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at her home.

Brenda was born on Sept. 16, 1965 in Ferndale, Michigan, to the late Russell and Virginia Bazzell Patterson. She retired from Kenlake Foods. Brenda loved to antique. She was a talker and a jokester and was considered a great friend to many. She will be dearly missed.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glenn West.

Those she lovingly leaves behind include her sons, Coulton, Keith, and Devin; daughters, Raegan, and Alicia; her twin brother, Marvin Patterson, of Troy, Tennessee; her older brother, Tommy Patterson (Peggy), of Murray; and several grandchildren.

Tina Lynn Goldston*

Aug. 1, 1959 – April 25, 2026

Ms. Tina Lynn Goldston, 66, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Saturday, April 25, 2026, at her home.

Born Aug. 1, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee, Tina was the daughter of the late Ferris Wendell Rieves and the late Ann Geraline (Gilley) Rieves. She was a member of Glendale Road Church of Christ.

Tina will be remembered by her daughter, Jessica Lincoln, of Tenn.; her uncle, Jimmy Gilley, of Liberty, Ky.; and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Thomas Huffman and Jack Goldston; and a brother, Jeffrey Scott Rieves.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 12 p.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, with John Dale officiating.

Friends may visit with the family after 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, until the service hour at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray.

The family requested that memorial contributions be made in Tina’s memory to the Glendale Road Church of Christ, 1101 Glendale Rd., Murray, KY 42071.
